Band members are also trained to support band operations through their department duties. This ensures that they receive a holistic experience and are not contained to only music-making throughout their time in WRSSB. Secondary 1 students are given an option to choose the department they wish to contribute in. Students may be appointed Department Heads in Secondary 3 where they will take on larger responsibilities such as event-planning.

• Manage sheet music inventory of the band

• Assist in giving out / collecting training materials

• Assist in distributing music scores

• Manage and set up logistics

• Manage upkeep of band storeroom and rehearsal venue

• Manage and set up sound systems

 

Publicity

• Publicise band programmes and general publicity of the band

• Manage social media accounts

 

Quartermaster

• Manage instrument and accessories inventory of the band

• Plan and assist in instrument maintenance programme

• Manage stocktaking of instruments and accessories

 

Welfare

• Plan welfare and bonding programmes for band members

• Plan gifts, souvenirs and welfare packs
