Senior Band
The Senior Band programme is an intensive yet enriching experience for all our budding musicians. The Senior Band performs at many platforms both in school and outside of school. The band is a regular feature at many school events such as the Chinese New Year celebrations, National Day Parade and various assemblies. We also support the school through the playing of the National Anthem and School Song during every Monday’s flag-raising ceremony.
The band also finds ways to give back to the community. We regularly contribute to the Woodlands CC’s National Day Celebrations by supporting the marching contingents during their National Day Observance Ceremony. Apart from this, we also perform a specially curated repertoire for the elderly at the Lions’ Club of Singapore’s Charity Dinner. This include Chinese oldies by Teresa Teng and Hokkien favourites such as Ai Pia Cai E Ya

WRSSB also organises our own concert series, called "Bravissimo" where we prepare a full-scale concert to showcase the band. Some of the songs performed include “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman, Disney’s “Little Mermaid Medley” and K-pop tunes like “As If It’s Your Last” and “Dynamite”.
In our concerts, we have also collaborated with our fellow performing arts CCAs like the Choir and Guzheng ensemble to open up different possibilities in music making.

Performances aside, Senior Band members will continue to build up their musical skills. Students can expect to finish Grade 2 Music Theory, and continue to be exposed to challenging pieces of Grades 3 - 4 difficulty.
In order to help the band achieve better standards of playing, we also participate in the Singapore Youth Festival as well as the Singapore International Band Festival (SIBF).
To foster a spirit of excellence in our students, we also actively participate in competitions such as the biennial Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation and Singapore International Band Festival. We also regularly participate in exchange programmes with other secondary schools and attend master classes by professional tutors and conductors to improve the playing competencies of our students further.
